Update...

(I know that I'm HORRIBLE for not having updated anything since December. Sorry guys, it's just been kinda a bit crazy and I've been moving around from country to country, state to state, and switching between my laptop and desktop. Eventually, I WILL get things together and post more pictures of past events that I didn't have time to post for. Until then, here's a short update for every one.)

Hello Family & Friends,

For all of those people that have been asking and wanting to know how Ian's interview in Oklahoma went, here is the latest up date for you guys. First let me say thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. We still need them!

Ian is working right now in Illinois (actually at the moment, he's in Iowa for a week.) and I'm at my parents place in Texas. He'll be up there for probably the better part of 3 weeks while I stay down south. Ian had his "two week interview" with the guys over in Oklahoma/Ft. Sill at the end of February. The interview went well he said, but right now we're still waiting to see if he got the job. Hopefully (crossing our fingers) we'll find out this week or possibly next week whether or not he got it.

Ian and one other person applied for the AGR position. So it's a competition between the two of them, but the unit doesn't make the final decision, they only get to "recommend" who they think would be best for the position. It actually goes all the way to the state, and the head guy that's over all the bases for the Air Force and the Army in Oklahoma is the one that actually makes the final decision. In the mean time, the unit won't even tell us who they "recommended" get the position. So we're just playing the waiting game, right now. They told us that they will try to get an answer in 2 or 3 weeks. So keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It's been over a week so far. This Thursday will be two weeks. While we're waiting to hear about the AGR position in Oklahoma, Ian has also applied for a position with our home base in Peoria. So if it doesn't work out with Ft. Sill, we still have other options, just not ones that we're as interested in.

In the mean time, while Ian is working in Illinois, I've been doing a lot of paper work to try and get back into school. In Oklahoma, about 45 minutes from the post where Ian would be working, there is a school that offers a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) programs. Some of you might know that I have some experience in the medical field and that puts me a little a head with getting into another medical programs. I am really hoping to get back into school and into one of those programs, so I can finally finish up my education! This is another reason why Oklahoma would be great for Ian and I. So if you guys wouldn't mind keeping that in your thoughts and prayers as well. There are a lot of opportunities for both Ian and I in Oklahoma, so if we don't get it, it will be pretty disappointing. But, when God closes a door, He opens a window. So we're doing our best to just trust Him and go with the flow.

Thanks again for all of our family friends for all of your love, encouragement, and support. We can't tell you all how much you mean to us!

Love,
Ashley & Ian Stegherr
